Great Success!

What an amazing group of volunteers we have at the school....they managed to organize and run an extremely successful book fair last week! They broke their goal of $3000 by the beginning of the third day.  Thank you so much to Tina Syho for organizing the event and all of the volunteers who contirbuted their time to the event.  The library and the school thank you!

Where has the time gone...

I feel very ashamed that I have not posted on here recently.  There are so many things going on at the school right now it is hard to keep up!  I am working with Div. 3 on reserach skills and with Div. 13, 14, 15 and 16 on inquiry projects! Div 11 is working on inquiry projects based on Canada... There will be a book fair this month in the library starting on Feb. 20th until Feb. 23rd; which will be open during lunch times and after school.  There is also a bookmark contest that is being sponsored by Vancouver Coastal Health and the theme this year is 'Play Safe, Stay Safe.'  I have not been able to organize the grade 4/5 volunteers or even start the booktalk blog! All in good time I hope.

Such fun, and so many engaging new books in the library. Make sure to visit soon....

Happy Holidays

What a quick holiday, well it seemed like it at least. I had a busy holiday reading. A few graphic novels,  a few novels and the Hunger Games Trilogy. What an interesting trilogy, so many important themes about war as well as action packed, a good read for any gender and for young adults to adults! I cannot wait to see what the movie is like. I am looking forward to all the new projects I have planned for the rest of the new year. Stayed tuned for an online book club and a book mark contest!
